Children's Miracle Network

As a Miss America local contestant, I have become very involved with the Children's Miracle Network. Contestants in the competition work to raise funds for, and awareness of the Children's Miracle Network.
I started raising funds as soon as I started competing, as we do for every pageant we participate in.
It was only in the last year I actually got to visit the hospital and meet some of the children we support - and it was an amazingly enlightening experience.
In October, Mariah Cook (Miss Nebraska), Kaylee Carlberg (Miss Gering), and I were able to run arts and crafts at the local Children's Hospital. It was an absolute joy to see how excited the kids were to come play with the "princesses." I could also tell, though, that the kids were a little worn down. It was great to know that we could be the spot of sunshine that they had in their days!
We also got to meet a little girl named Carly. Carly has spent her last four birthdays in the hospital, and yet she smiled and chatted happily with us the whole time about normal little girl topics, such as her boyfriend!
Carly made the mission of the Children's Miracle Network to support sick children and their families, a real and important endeavor for me. Spending time with her made me even more dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the organization.
I would like to encourage everyone to donate a little to the Children's Miracle Network to help support children like Carly. Every dollar helps these families get through their tough times - please consider donating below!
